Delete Your Data, With Clarity
Here’s exactly how account and data deletion works at My Joyfullday—what gets removed, what may be retained, and the timelines you can expect.
Fast summary
- Request by email: Send your request to privacy@myjoyfullday.com.
- Deletion timeline: Most personal data is removed from active systems within 30 days.
- Backups: Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days.
- Legal retention: Some records (e.g., payment logs) may be retained longer when required by law.
How to request deletion
To request account and data deletion, email privacy@myjoyfullday.com from the email address associated with your My Joyfullday account (or include that email clearly in your message).
If you have access to your dashboard, you may also be able to initiate deletion from your account settings. If you don’t see a deletion option, email us and we’ll help.
What we delete (what “deletion” typically includes)
Once your deletion request is confirmed, we begin removing your personal data from our active systems. Depending on your usage, this typically includes:
- Account profile data (name, email, phone, avatar)
- Event websites you created, event settings, and drafts
- Guest lists, RSVP submissions, plus-one and meal preference data
- Uploaded media (photos/videos) and event content you added
- Support and feedback conversations (where feasible, subject to retention needs)
What we may retain (and why)
Some data may be retained longer when required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, abuse investigation, or dispute resolution. Examples include:
- Payment and billing records required for accounting and tax obligations
- Security logs needed to investigate suspicious activity or protect the platform
- Records needed to enforce our Terms or resolve disputes
We retain only what is necessary for those purposes.
Timelines you can expect
- Active systems: Most personal data is deleted within 30 days.
- Backups: Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days and are not typically accessible for normal operations.
Identity verification
To protect you, we may ask for additional verification before processing a deletion request—especially if the request doesn’t come from the account’s email address.
Special cases
- Shared content: If you invited guests or collaborated with others, deleting your account may remove host-managed data while guests’ independent submissions may be handled according to retention requirements.
- Legal holds: If we are required to preserve data due to legal obligations, we may delay deletion of specific records until the obligation ends.
