For hosts with a dress code and a plan

A Themed Birthday Party Website, From Superheroes to Masquerade

A theme is a promise. The page is where guests find out what you meant, what to wear, and what happens when they arrive, so matching the look is only the beginning.

The theme is decided before the invitations go out

By the time you write anything down, you know whether this is a masquerade or a room full of people pretending to be superheroes. What you do not know is whether the guests understood. Costumes get read three ways, and the person who turns up in the wrong shoes is annoyed at you for not saying more.

A themed page solves this because it can hold the theme in layers: the look at the top, the dress code in its own section, the running order underneath, and an answers page for the questions you can predict. Nobody has to interpret a single sentence typed into a group chat.

Matching the design to the theme

There is no design named after your idea. Pick by mood, and let the wording finish the job.

    Bright and bold for capes

Strong colour and heavy type suit a children's superhero party, and a schedule that says face painting at half past two tells the guests what the day is for.

    Dark, formal, elegant for masquerade

Serif type and a restrained palette do the scene-setting, while the dress code section explains the masks and what you have provided for anyone who forgets one.

    Retro for the decades party

Plain type with a single loud accent colour reads as a decade better than clip art does, and the playlist link and song requests make the theme audible by eight o'clock.

Garden and tropical for the warm-month party

Light background, clear times, and directions that mention the path people actually walk. Say what happens if it rains, because a themed outdoor party always has a wet plan.

The sections a themed party earns

Ordinary parties get away with three lines. Themes do not.

    • A dress code section that says what the theme means in cloth, and what you will do for the uncostumed.
    • A running order, so guests arrive for the right moment rather than the wrong one.
    • A short FAQ page on the site for parking, children, food, and whether the costume is compulsory.
    • A music link and song requests, because a themed party lives or dies on its playlist.
    • A photo gallery with a table code, so the costumes get photographed by everyone and end up in one place.

Wording that sells the theme in one line

Written so a guest knows within three seconds what is expected of them.

    Masquerade
An evening of masks for Marta's fortieth. Doors at seven, dinner at eight, and a mask provided for anyone who would rather arrive unrecognisable but unprepared.
    Superheroes, for six-year-olds
Capes welcome, pyjamas acceptable. We start with games at 2pm, cake at 3, and the hall is empty by half past four.
    Decades party
Come as any year between 1970 and now. The only rule is the music: send a request before Saturday and we will play as much of it as we can.
    Costume question, answered kindly
Is the costume optional? Yes. Will you regret coming without one? Also yes.

Replies, counted in the right order

The guest list is where the theme becomes logistics. Replies arrive with names, plus-ones inside your limit, and meal choices with the allergies attached, so the number of chairs and the number of vegetarian plates come from the same place.

Keep the link, the password and the code on the printed card in one set of colours, and the page you built for the theme does the rest of the evening's admin without you.

    How it works

Pick a look, fill the sections, send it

Start from the theme, not the decoration

Open a birthday event in the web app, or describe it to Jitabi on WhatsApp: masquerade for thirty, doors seven, dinner eight, masks provided. The draft arrives with the sections in place and you decide what to keep.

    Choose the design by mood

Browse the birthday designs and pick the one that reads like the evening you have in mind, then write the dress code section as a paragraph rather than a word. Dozens of looks exist; your theme is the thing that makes one of them right.

Publish and send the link once

Nothing guests see exists until you publish. Then the link goes to the group with the password beside it, and prints as a code on any paper invitations you send to people who prefer post.

Answer the questions before the day

Watch the list fill, add an FAQ entry when the same question appears twice, and send a reminder from the page to anyone who has not replied. Song requests arrive alongside the yeses.

    Questions

Common questions about themed birthday party website

Is there a template for every theme?

No, and this is worth knowing before you search for one. There are dozens of designs; you pick the one whose colours and type read like your theme, then the dress code, running order and wording do the rest of the scene-setting.

Can I explain the dress code properly instead of one word?

Yes. The dress code has its own section on the page, which is where you say what the theme means in practice, what you have provided, and what happens to the guest who arrives in ordinary clothes.

Where do guests ask questions about the theme?

Birthday pages carry an FAQ section, so write the answers in advance: parking, children, food, costume. When a genuine question arrives that you had not thought of, add it there and everybody else sees it too.

Can I keep the theme from the guest of honour?

That is a matter of who you send the link to, plus a password on the page so it cannot be opened without it. Invite the collaborators who are in on it and leave the guest of honour off until the day.

How do we get photographs of the costumes afterwards?

Put the table code on the page and mention it in the invitation. Guests scan it and upload their own pictures as the evening goes on, and the gallery fills while the party is still happening.
