For the host who wants one address to send

What Is a Digital Invitation Link, and How Do You Make One?

It is the web address of a published event page. Paste it anywhere, and every guest who opens it reads the same details and lands on the same reply form.

    The link, precisely

A digital invitation link is not a special format or a service. It is the address of a page that exists on the internet: the invitation itself, with the date, the place, the schedule, the dress code and a reply button on it. Anyone who opens that address sees the same event, which is what makes it an invitation rather than a message.

What separates it from a photo of a card is that the page is alive. It can be edited after sending, it can hold a form that records answers, and it can carry a deadline. A picture of an invitation is a printout pretending to be digital; a link points at something that can still change and can still count.

What one address has to hold

    • The occasion and who it is from, in words that read like a person wrote them.
    • Date and times, arrival and finish, plus the running order for anything with more than one part.
    • The place, with directions, parking notes and a way to open a map.
    • A reply form that asks for name, attendance and headcount, and a stated answer-by date.
    • Anything guests would otherwise message you about: what to wear, children, food choices, who to call on the day.
    • Room for an update, because almost every event changes one detail before it happens.

    Where the address lives

On My Joyfullday every published event gets a real page at a real address.

    The short web address

Each event sits on its own subdomain ending in myjoyfullday.site, named after the event, so a guest opening it can see at a glance whose celebration they are looking at and that it came from somewhere real rather than a shortened mystery link.

    The app path as well

The same page also resolves through a path on app.myjoyfullday.com. Both forms open the identical event, so a link copied early still works and you never have to re-send anything because the address changed.

    Every channel, one destination

Paste it into WhatsApp, SMS, an email, or a caption. Print it as a QR code on paper cards. All of those routes reach one page and one list of replies.

    A door you can shut

A link can be password protected, so the page shows its content only to guests you gave the word to, while everyone else reaches a simple request for it before seeing anything.

    Three ways to have one

Same result, different starting point depending on how you like to work.

    • Message Jitabi, our WhatsApp assistant, and describe the event in ordinary sentences. It drafts the site around what you said and sends you the page to review.
    • Open Clara, the AI studio on the web, and talk the event into shape: it asks what is missing and fills the sections as you answer.
    • Build it yourself in the web app, choosing a design and writing the sections in your own order. In-app drafting helps here too, filling a section from a short instruction.

What the link does after the send

This is where the idea pays for itself. Once the address is out, three things keep working through it without you touching anything you already sent. Guests answer, so the list fills itself. You edit, so the corrected time reaches everyone who has the link. The page keeps the deadline next to the reply button, so the ask stays present even after the message scrolled away.

One caution about drafts. An event page that has not been published is not visible to guests, so a link copied too early shows them a locked door rather than your invitation. Publish, then copy, then send, and open the link yourself once from a phone to see exactly what arrives.

    How it works

From a blank event to an address you can paste

    Say the event out loud

Start in the web app or message Jitabi: Marta and I are marrying in June, church at two, reception after, eighty people. Enough detail for the draft to be recognisable.

Fill the sections that stop questions

Schedule, directions, dress code, a short answers block. Each one filled is a private message you will not have to answer later.

Add the reply form and the deadline

Attendance, headcount inside your plus-one limit, food notes if the menu needs them, plus the date you want answers by so the page asks on your behalf.

Publish and copy the address once

Publishing turns the draft into a real page with a real link. Copy that address, check it on your own phone, and send it wherever your guests actually read messages.

    Questions

Common questions about what is a digital invitation link

Is a digital invitation link the same as a QR code?

No, but they work together. The link is the address; a QR code is a printed picture of that address so someone can reach the page without typing. Both lead to the same event page and the same reply list.

Does the link expire or change?

It stays put while the event page exists, which is the point of sending one address instead of retyping invitations. If the details change, the page changes and the link does not, so no guest is left holding an outdated version.

Can anyone who finds the link see my event?

By default, anyone holding the address can open the page, so treat the link as the invitation itself. Where that matters, password protection restricts the content to the people you gave the word to.

How long does it take to make one?

Minutes to a draft through chat, and an hour if you want the wording and photographs genuinely yours. The address only exists once you publish, so the last step is a decision rather than a wait.

Can I make a link for more than one event?

Yes. Each event gets its own address, and a shared account keeps them separate so the reply lists never mix. Useful for a family that hosts three celebrations in a season.
